The main problem is the ignorance in the proper use of these CT machines by the Radiologists and the Dr.s that order the CT scans lack of understanding of just how much radiation is emitted from the CT machines. Most Dr's have no idea of how much radiation their patients will be getting from each CT scan, so they order many more scans than are really necessary. The average CT scan emits 100 to 250 times the amount of radiation you would get in a chest x-ray. Most Radiologists, technologists and Dr's don't know this, and neither do the patients. For some reason, the AMA are not making sure Dr's are clear on these facts and so the problem goes on and on.

Having more than 10 Ct scans is almost a guarantee that you will develop some kind of cancer later on in life. MRI's are much safer, but you have to be wary of the dyes they use, which can cause many other heath problems.

Let's face it folks. Having any procedure done by western medicine is a risky proposition now days. You have to do all your home work and be very careful of what you submit to or they can mess you up horribly for life....or worse, they can kill you.

The Hippocratic oath is no longer payed attention to by Dr's and profit is the main motivator for any surgery or procedure they do on you these days. BP is running the show now and most Dr's are just the pawns in their money making racket.
