Trips to local doctor offices

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Well, I have been to about 35 doctor offices now with folders of literature about the serious side effects of quinolones. I have given out about 65 folders to doctors that I used to call on. Hopefully, I can make an impact and greatly lower the number of prescriptions that doctors write for Levaquin in my old geographical area. I have been able to talk to a bunch of the doctors that I used to visit when I was a pharma rep. Many of the doctors that I talked to were simply amazed at the number of severely crippled individuals. A couple doctors actually called me at home and talked to me about it. I tell them to never use Levaquin and other quinolones as first line agents for infections. I let them know they should only be used as a last resort for life or death situations. I let them all know that the package insert for Levaquin mentions irreversible pain and prolonged disability due to tendon damage. I also have been letting them know about the serious damage to the central nervous system.

There is a doctor that was hit pretty bad in my old sales territory and I have been using his name a lot. It has been really hard on my body to go to these doctor offices but I am determined to make a negative impact on the sales of Levaquin. I wish I could go to more but it is too hard. I can only go to about one or two a day and then go home to rest. It is amazing the number of doctors that I have talked to that were completely unaware of these devastating side effects. I am also continuing to try and get my story out to the  media. Once the Quinolone documentary is filmed and completed I am going to mail a copy to various media outlets and hopefully one of them will pick it up.

Quinolone Film

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Well I talked to Greg, the airline pilot who got filmed after me for the Quinolone film. Greg took Cipro and had all kinds of neurological damage. It has been several years for him now and he still hasn’t been able to go back to work as an airline pilot. He said the director of the film filmed him and some of his family members just like they did with me. Greg thought that the film has a lot of potential and that the film crew was outstanding. I thought the film crew was excellent as well. They were first class professional people. I am glad they filmed Greg since he was a pilot and maybe that will add some credibility to the film.

It is simply unbelievable the number of people that are damaged by quinolone antibiotics. In a hundred years from now society will look back and wonder how these drugs were able to stay on the market for so long. Eventually somebody in the public eye will get hit from a quinolone and then it will be widely known. When I talk to various people about this tragedy it is amazing so many people tell me that they don’t like to put anything in their body because of side effects. It seems like the only people that are not that concerned with side effects of drugs are the doctors that give them out. I wish doctors would spend a little more time researching drugs on their own instead of taking the time to listen to the pharma reps that are selling them. Pharma reps have an agenda and that is to sell more drugs and that is it.

Glutathione treatment

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Well it seems like there are a number of people trying glutathione therapy for their quinolone induced hell. I have a friend named Jim who is about 3 years out and trying IV glutathione in early August. Jim is still suffering from tendon pain and some other symptoms. Jim had terrible chemical sensitivities to the point that he had to wear a charcoal filtered mask in any public place. Different odors would send his anxiety to a much higher level. I really hope the glutathione works for him

I am still waiting for my doctor to read the literature I gave her on glutathione treatment. From all the research I have done this does seem like something that would be beneficial with low risk of making a reaction worse. I am going to try nebulized glutathione. I am too scared to try an IV bag of it into my vein even though the safety profile for glutathione is very good. I have read that glutathione pills are not absorbed well so they are very ineffective. Nebulized glutathione supposedly passes the blood brain barrier. At least I can try this method and do it one day at a time. It is amazing that Rob, the guy who did do glutathione, got 95 % better after 3 years of suffering.

I have tried everything- Ozone, alpha lipoic acid, accupuncture, accupressure, hypnosis, neurofeedback. Nothing helps. My QEEG test was severely abnormal. This is a brain test that seems to be very sensitive to quinolone induced injuries. Bob Grozier, Tom Lefko and a few other victims have had these tests done and they were all very abnormal.
